Top 8 Social Media Apps We're Using For Our Clients

Today, there are so many different social media apps and tools to choose from. It's hard to tell which fits best. Here at Homemade Social, we have narrowed it down to our top eight most-used social media apps for our clients. These social media apps help us grid plan, schedule, edit, and create graphics. With different functions, they all work in harmony to help us achieve the content we desire to share for our clients as a social media agency!

Later

Later is one of our favorite social media apps to plan our client’s content with. Later allows us to:

  • Schedule automatic posts

  • Visualize the grid

  • Repost content

Scheduling with Later couldn’t be easier as it provides optimal times for posting with regard to your account. Later also allows us to save captions which add an aspect of simplicity to generating content. Later also makes measuring your success easy with built-in analytics that measure followers, reach, demographics and more.

Planoly

Planoly is another great social media app we use to plan our client’s content. Similar to Later, this app allows us to see optimal times to post, visualize the grid, and schedule automatic posts. Planoly allows you to easily compare each post as it shows you the likes and comment count after the post has been published.

Canva

Here at Homemade Social, we use Canva’s customizable templates for Instagram posts and stories, Facebook posts, and client reports. This social media app is so easy to use and allows you to design templates and posts that truly capture your brand's voice! Canva lets you set brand and document colors so everything you create is cohesive. You can sign up here.

Inshot

We use Inshot as a video editor. This app allows you to easily edit videos for any format, including square for Instagram posts, or portrait for Instagram Stories. Features include:

  • Video editing capabilities like trimming, merging and adjusting

  • Music effects and voice overs

  •  Add text and emojis to video content

  • Filters for photos and videos.

Unfold

Unfold is a blogger's best friend! We use it to create unique and individual stories for our clients. Unfold allows you to have access to templates, fonts, and designs that capture our clients’ brands. We love this social media app because it allows us to be creative and original with our clients content.

Photoshop/Lightroom

While Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom take more time to learn and master, they are definitely essential apps for us. We use these apps to create original graphics and photo content for our clients. Adobe Photoshop allows us to modify photos for our clients, and Lightroom allows us to edit and filter them. We also use Photoshop to create trending memes and graphics.

Giphy

Who doesn't love GIFs? Giphy is an app we use to find GIFs and then incorporate them into our content. This app is simple but allows us to add a sense of humor and lightness to our content. GIFs are a great way to add a small “wow factor” or attention grabber to the content. Using GIFs makes content appealing, engaging, and easily understood by the audience.

Unfollow

Unfollow who? Unfollow is an app we use to manage who our clients are following. This application allows us to track who follows us, who we follow, who unfollows us, etc. Typically we use it as an easy method to mass unfollow people for our clients’ accounts in the event that they had previously followed a large number of spam accounts.
